35,75 €Akira Kurosawa (1910–1998) was an influential Japanese director and screenwriter who produced numerous masterpieces. This exhibition catalogue explores the creative processes behind Kurosawa's famous screenplays, such as ‘Seven Samurai’, as well as newly discovered scripts, that were never filmed. From early in his career, he was influenced by literary giants like Dostoevsky, Shakespeare, and Balzac, to name a few. The book documents the research and exhibition developed by the National Film Archive of Japan in collaboration with the Kurosawa experts to highlight the director’s screenwriting abilities.
